Trump goes all in on Nazi rhetoric, and the media gives him another free pass
Trump’s own words make clear that he views the 2024 election as a referendum on whether our country will head down a dangerous authoritarian path or a prosperous democratic one. The media owes it to the American people to make the stakes of our election clear. That means reckoning with Trump’s admiration for fascism.

Few days ago on CNN, Jake Tapper said that if Americans would see the same rethoric from a Canadian politician, those Americans would be outraged and more...
ReplyDeleteHow come it's OK in USA but not in another democratic country?
Saw also many interviews about how to erase him from the ballots and again, it's a ping pong game betwen the courts of each states or the 14th Amendement of the Constitution.
He is going on surfing on the wave of no actions to get him out of 2024 election and surely not the primary election.
Meanwhile, the Orange con man continue to spred his venom poison words all over his rallies.
YES! Americans, TIME to WAKE UP before it's too late.
The mask has fallen off Trump, the Repuklicants and their Reichwing followers.
ReplyDeleteSome of these loons are begging for another civil war, they better watch what they hope for. Sick dreams of the damned. - Rj
Let's be real - he's ALWAYS been a Nazi. He's just never given it such explicit, full-throated language. But, as Rachel Maddow is rightly fond of saying - watch what they DO, not what they SAY and his his actions have screamed "NAZI" from the start.
ReplyDeleteIt's rather sickening, isn't it. This pompous blowhard with a third grader's comprehension. He's basically a school yard bully in an old man's bloated body. If there were any justice in the world, his heart would explode and we'd be spared another showdown with evil. Ha! As if he HAS a heart.
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to trump, everyone seems to be all milky toast. Is everyone afraid of him or something???? Shit or get off the pot. Just jail the bastard and be done with it!!!!!!!!!!! If he gets back in office, then everyone who did nothing but blow hot air, and sat back and let him get away with it, get what we deserve. How can none of this stick to him, and how is it even possible he's running for office again?!?!?!?! The US is fucked up.
ReplyDeletehistorical courses and recurrences. We are in a negative situation, of internal and international crisis, to which we really do not see an end. Unfortunately there is never a limit to the worst!
ReplyDeleteTrump's heritage is his father being active in the Ku Klux Klan where they lived in the northeast USA. Google that and newspaper accounts of his father's arrest come up. Active enough in Klan protests to get arrested and jailed. AND young DJT was old enough to be impressionable and know what was going on and why. I suspect he asked questions and was "told what was right" by his father?

Trump will align with any orientation that he feels will keep him in power. Personally or politically.
I suspect, by their actions, that the vast majority of Trump 'likers" are too young to know about (OR were taught in school) about WHY we fought WWII and later wars. Their parents and grand parents are no longer with us to add to that public school story.
Trumpism and Climate Change are similar as BOTH have tipping points, which many of us can see, but is a "new normal" for younger people. They wonder what the "big deal" is about, not having learned about or followed those subjects. Trump is playing "the victim" (of many things), which is how his supporters tend to see him, as he is victimized by others, which gains him their sympathy. I don't know how many times I heard "Let him alone so he can do his job" comments, during his term in office. Well, he was doing "his job" by tearing up many progress items others had worked hard to achieve, just that they did not meet HIS objectives. Even if it meant harming his supporters (who apparently did not notice!). What kind of public servant is THAT, who burns the hand that fed him, once he is in office? A hand with no money in it.
Trump has quietly re-written American History enough, in ways which do not directly affect "his base", so they don't care what he did or how he did it OR anything else he did . . . even if it was morally defective.
"Young 'uns" seem to have lost the ability to research and make informed decisions in a time when they are "influenced" or "groomed" by social media to think/act in particular ways. It's easier that way! Let them "Put in the Work" to investigate "Nazi Germany" and "Fascism" in a World Book Encyclopedia or Encyclopedia Britannica and then compare what is found to how Trump has been acting and talking. Reading facts as WE learned them from sources which far pre-date the Trump time in the White House.
