Yesterday, Uncle Vic left a comment on the "Meat" post and included a link to the record below. I had trouble understanding the lyrics so did a little Googling and found an interesting backstory.
From the Number One hit by The Majorettes, “My boyfriend’s always wearin’ white Levi’s ... and his tennis shoes and his surfin’ hat and a big plaid Pendleton shirt.”
The source begins with the Beach Boys, followed by the Majorettes. I thought it worthy of a post. Try to overlook that it's a blog for Pendleton clothing.

Bought a pair of white Levi's in the early 70s. Was always surprised how clean they stayed between washings because they were so bright white. In the mid 80s I purchased a pair of white leather levi cut jeans from a company in California. Needless to say I got noticed, which is why I bought them. You can't imagine how many people, both females and males HAD to touch them. Still in the closet at that time but it was the closest thing to being groped and enjoying the attention. Aah, Youth!
ReplyDeleteAren't you sweet...........
ReplyDeleteMilleson - I've never owned white pants.
ReplyDeleteUncle Vic - Sometimes.
Love it! Sounds like background music from a John Waters movie!
