ReplyDeleteWe are a «social democracy» where all citizens are helping to pay for those securities for ALL Canadians no matter their income.
For income taxes here, in Canadian or Provincial sides, are aligned on how much you earn as an icome. I have a normal middle class income and my percentage of taxation is around 15% calculate on both, national and provincial.
I never pay for medical usage as in 2017 when I had a colon surgery for a cancer tumor, did remain 4 days in the hospital and my bill was 0$.
No need to pay a private health care policy here.
My 4 prescription meds cost me $90/months including my two diabetese meds like metformine and Jardiance. I'm on the provincial governement medicare for meds.
Only two examples of the difference between our two countries.

ReplyDeleteSmall quibble with the first one: Socialism also includes centralized ownership of the means of production. The right wing in the US trots out this word to crank up their voters & scare others into thinking government is gonna take over. But when you ask citizens about those things listed, turns out they’re mostly very popular.
