  3. 1930s Tatra - 6 cylinder air cooled rear engine with that fin on the rear like the 1940s Batmobile from the comics - loved it!! As I remember they were built in Czechoslovakia - I saw a real one in England 1955 when I was a kid - kind of reminiscent of the 1940s Tucker

  4. Love your posts with pics of vintage cars. So many gorgeous/strange designs. It seems Volkswagen and Citroën have been very "inspired" by the Tatra's front to later design their Beetle and 2CV.

  6. Several years after WW2 you could get used cars cheap because everyone wanted new cars. My grandmother in 1948, who saved a mint while working during the war, bought a 1941 tan Chrysler sedan like the one seen top left in the pic of Chryslers for 250 dollars and a year later bought a red 1941 Buick convert for 150 dollars ! and they were not clunkers.
