1908-27 Ford Model T
1930s Tatra T87
1935 Chevy Suburban
1941 Chrysler
1954 Volkswagen
Luv the Chryslers - I'll take a Club Coupe.
ReplyDeleteThe Tatra looks like an accident waiting to happen. Adore those 1941 Chryslers, though.
ReplyDelete1930s Tatra - 6 cylinder air cooled rear engine with that fin on the rear like the 1940s Batmobile from the comics - loved it!! As I remember they were built in Czechoslovakia - I saw a real one in England 1955 when I was a kid - kind of reminiscent of the 1940s Tucker
ReplyDeleteLove your posts with pics of vintage cars. So many gorgeous/strange designs. It seems Volkswagen and Citroën have been very "inspired" by the Tatra's front to later design their Beetle and 2CV.
ReplyDeletejsstrand - Thank you for the tidbits of info.
ReplyDeleteLaurent - I noticed that VW nose.
Several years after WW2 you could get used cars cheap because everyone wanted new cars. My grandmother in 1948, who saved a mint while working during the war, bought a 1941 tan Chrysler sedan like the one seen top left in the pic of Chryslers for 250 dollars and a year later bought a red 1941 Buick convert for 150 dollars ! and they were not clunkers.
