ReplyDeleteAs there is a worker shortage here, I saw on the national news channel that businesses like «Home Depot» are giving $20/h (Can.) to attrack workers.
ReplyDeleteWhat is now hard to find as we are deconfining in Province of Quebec, is workers for restaurants and many other places related to tourism and lodging.
Our Prime Minister unveiled the next step for going back to «real life» as it'll be a progressive going back to normal like next May 28, then June 28 and as most of our population will have double vaccination and in August all will be back to normal. No mask will no more be in use except if you personnaly want to wear it.
The main point is that having back all the workers will be a challenge for many businesses so the salary offers are getting up.
Must also know that the cost of living here is one of the lower in Canada if you compare to Toronto or Vancouver.
JiEL - Large companies here are finding it difficult to get workers as well. They claim, however, that it's because the unemployment benefits are too much; some workers make more on that than working. Well, yeah, working for a company that pays only minimum wage isn't enough to live on.
