Kamala's endorsements are in rapid succession now. But none of us will be surprised to see that millions of ignorant, misinformed and "unwoke," people who identify with him will still vote for the real threat to our democracy and country.
I am appreciating that more and more media outlets are proclaiming support for Kamala. I am feeling ever so (cautiously) optimistic about the November election; that regardless of the Orange Menace blustering through lawsuits, that she will prevail in numbers we have not seen since Obama was first brought into office.
I love that she is not taking anything for granted. Harris and Walz are out there, campaigning ceaselessly, not looking at the polls (as Clinton did) and thinking something was given. No stone is going un-turned to meet the voting bases; no fly-over states, no apology tours. Just candidates who are rallying support everywhere they go.
We have more or less turned off the television. The media continues to promote the worst of the worst and continues to give Trump an open microphone for a daily hiss of degrading lies. We know who and how we are voting, we don't need to corrode what sanity we are holding onto.
As Drew Sheneman put it, "It's a tough choice. Should I get the chicken soup or the bowl full of raw sewage?" We're going all in for the chicken soup.
