That last picture is odd. The building looks like a house, not a church, but there are tombstones in front of it. Nobody buries dead family members in the front yard, surely. Even if it was a funeral home, there wouldn't be just a small scattering of graves in front of it.

Doesn't it just break your heart to see places like this abandoned and in disrepair? If I had unlimited funds, I'd restore every one I could find, if for no other reason than to honor the architecture.

To the comments above I would venture a guess that the last picture is either an artist's rendering or an AI creation.

And yes, it saddens me to see to see beautiful examples of architectural excellence left to this fate. The hours and hours of work by skilled craftsmen who spent their lives producing these works of art in wood, marquetry, wall and ceiling embellishments, only to come to this end says much about how we value our history.

The first photo is a room done in the chinoiserie style popular in fine homes at the time. Photo 3 is a fine estate left in ruins. It is like a ruin of the Civil War in the USA, a ruin of the Easter Rising in Ireland, a ruin of Ww1 in Belgium or France or a ruin in Germany from Ww2. The palm trees are telling, perhaps it is ruined estate in Asia, the Caribbean or the American South. And more than likely a ruin as a result of a family’s financial ruin.:( -Rj

Infidel & Milleson - Yes, I think that last one is an AI creation.
