Take the top (2nd) floor off the Valencia and that's what an uncle's house was in Glendale, CA back in the day....
ReplyDeletePat - I like that style a lot.
ReplyDeleteNo.2 The Spokane is almost alike my grand uncle's home here in Sorel, P.Québec. It's still there but for sur my grand uncle is dead for many years now.
ReplyDeleteI like the last two best - if only for the LA vibe they give off. Arranging furniture in those living rooms in 2024 would be an absolute nightmare, however.
ReplyDeleteMark - It sure would.
ReplyDelete2024.0205.0002 - The Spokane is almost a copy of my home in Portland Oregon, a 1912 Sears kit home! Called the Portland Four Square. The floor plan shows the reason for the name. It's sooo similar except for the first floor plan being flipped - Living rm Dining rm on the right side with Pocket not French doors between them, on the left the front Hallway with stairs up and down and kitchen at the back. The kit house came with a full basement, Attic with window and a four door 'Carriage House' near the back of the property.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your site immensely - your interests, perspective, commentary, design, curiosity, compassion, sense of humor and of course, your lusty attraction to pics of Woofy men and their appendages! I was just looking at some of your posts I had missed, and happened upon this! Lived in house like this for four of my 10 years in Portland before selling it and moving back home to NC. Thank you for what you do. You Sir, are a delight!
Dick - Thank you for your lovely comment! I lived in Denver for a number of years and a house like the Spokane was referred to as a Denver Square.
