ReplyDeleteThese mobile homes are only 8 feet wide, in 1959 10- and 12-foot wides became standard. In 1967 the first double wides were introduced and they went from being trailers to houses. Had a relative live in a mobile home park in the 1970s. The elderly lady next door had the oldest trailer in the park, built in 1948, it was an 8 wide and 24 feet long with kitchen, full bath and combination living room/bedroom.(the couch converted into a bed).-Rj
ReplyDeleteRj - I grew up in an 8x28 trailer; two parents and two boys. When I met Jerry I was living in a 10x64. I moved up!
