1933 Pierce-Arrow Silver Arrow

The Pierce-Arrow Silver Arrow was a concept car introduced in 1933. The Silver Arrow debuted at the 1933 New York Auto Show as a sleek, futuristic sedan that featured styling considered well ahead of its time. These cars were powered by a 7.6L V12 engine, and though originally intended as a limited production model, only saw 5 examples built as demand was almost non-existent due to the Silver Arrow's exorbitant price. Pierce-Arrow would later use the Silver Arrow name for its Eight and Twelve models, although these production cars featured little of the Silver Arrow Concept's famed styling and prescence.

Like that car! We have a Pierce Arrow Museum here in Buffalo, NY. https://www.pierce-arrow.com/ to really honor the vehicle.

A Silver Arrow was on display at the long since closed Cars of the Stars museum in Buena Park when I visited several times in the 70's.
A very advanced looking car for its time with its front fenders blended with the body, and only five or six were built.-Rj

No wonder its design was called futuristic at the time Pierce-Arrow presented it.
This car looks like a piece of art that most certainly inspired designers from the car industry over the two following decades. Names come to mind such as Bentley, Rolls Royce, Mercedes and Porsche and Citroën (yes, there is a glimpse of the DS to be here).
But also people such as young George Lucas, judging from the back windshield which obviously inspired the so many helmets seen in Star Wars (as well as the Cylons' in the Battlestar Galactica series :-)
I didn't know of this beauty. Thanks a million Rick for this post!

Laurent - You are very welcome.

It would appear that its designers were unconcerned with the driver's view to the rear.
