Impressive building, always wonder how they stay upright when the base is smaller than the top. The black monolith in the left background of the last picture is the old Seafirst building. I remember driving to Seattle shortly after it was completed to see 2001:A Space Odyssey at the Cinerama theater. About two-thirds up in the windows, a proud new daddy had put big letters that proclaimed, "IT'S A BOY" I bet there's a picture of that in some 53 year old man's baby book.

Milleson - What an interesting thing to see.

I wonder why this was done. And I would love to learn more about what is at it's base, as it appears incongruous with the rest of the building. Fascinating.

Every time I walk by that building it gives me the creeps.

Alvord - I lived in Seattle for nine years and often wondered what would happen to it in a really big earthquake.
