I knew this passing would not escape you and have been waiting for this tribute. During her time, she was one of the most powerful and influential women in the world. Girls and women need only look to this remarkable American as a role model for them, and for that matter, boys and men, too. I will never stop loving this woman and was honored to have witnessed her quiet and competent diplomacy. They just don't make them like that anymore. MTG and LB come to mind, the new definition of ignorance.
ReplyDeleteI really liked her... a great deal. She was smart and served her country well. Sigh. Can't imagine what steeped statements she'd have made about this country's current state of affairs. And I wonder what she would have done in re: to Putin and the Ukraine. Brilliant woman.
ReplyDeleteMilleson - We need many more like her.
ReplyDeleteHere in the UK this lady was admired by many for her devotion and commitments to the cause of human rights across all nations and ethnic groups, for the cause of peace and justice across nation states and respect for the individual. The world is a sadder and lesser place for her passing I fear, RIP my dear lady.
ReplyDeletebobbert - She will be missed.
ReplyDeleteI met Sec. Albright on a couple of occasions. She was unfailingly gracious, direct, kind, no-nonsense, perceptive and deeply intelligent. She also had the firmest handshake of almost anyone I've ever met. I truly mourn her loss.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the lovely tribute, Rick. Very fitting.
Jimbo - How very neat for you! And you are very welcome.
