Love the first one. Not only because of the obvious truth within the mom's answer, but also because home-made preserves is a fun, healthy and tastefully rewarding thing to do :-)
Love the second one too: I should set one of my elder brothers to inquire on some of the upper sections's items. That should keep his quite conspiracy oriented mind occupied for a while.
