Those 1-bedroomm plans look kind of cool. Old-school tiny houses!
ReplyDeleteI have often wondered how people lived in these houses. We're just two guys living in a three bedroom, three bath condo and it seems we're stuffed to the gills. #thirdworldproblems
ReplyDeleteI saw those but I don't remember in which year or what project it was in.
ReplyDeleteFor sure as being used to those architectural plans, some have not so much large bedrooms. What is also to notice is that many bedrooms have no closets.
In France and some places in Europe, most of their bedrooms have no closet and that is why they will put a furniture like a closet to put their clothes.
Ikea is selling them to suit the Europeen style.
Plan no. 8199 and 8203 have nice bedrooms.
Mine is 13F X 12F and it quite nice to put many furniture in it.
Mark - Yeah, I've often wondered how people managed in those days.
ReplyDeleteJiEL - I neglected to title the era from which these came.
I always thought that first design was an old school house... huh. Such cool stuff, Rick. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHow did people manage in those days? The simple answer is people didn't have and couldn't afford STUFF. They Managed with the barest of necessities. We have become affluent enough to be mega-consumers and in reality own more than we need, me included. The prime example of this is evident when you walk by a large home with an open three car garage and four cars are parked outside because the garage is loaded to the rafters with STUFF. I manage to get my car inside, but one side is glutted with my kitchen overflow because I love to cook. It's almost obscene.
ReplyDeleteMilleson - I have a friend who also likes to cook, but ALL his stuff is crammed in his kitchen.
