And a Happy Independence Day to you and all. And let's make sure we're all doing everything we can to maintain that independence during this unsettled time in our country's history. Rick, with the fireworks bans in Portland and Clark County, fire threat should be diminished, but there will be spotty occurrences of neighbors, arrogant and ignorant, who will ignore the ban and rattle the windows with booms into the night. Side story to the sweet dogs pictured: attended a 4th party years ago with friends who had a young adult briard dog. He was doing fine until the booming started in the neighborhood, then proceeded to run through the glass slider which was closed. Shattered glass everywhere, a frightened lacerated dog bleeding in the backyard which necessitated a quick trip to the vet and the party was over. The dog survived, a $2500.00 bill followed and no one to sue for damages. This holiday is pure trauma to our pets and we shouldn't have to sedate the poor critters into a comatose state to celebrate this one day.
Hope you had a good one. I agree it was too hot and dry for any fireworks.... And all we heard echo through the valley all day long, past 11pm, was firworks.
Happy Fourth of July Ricko

ReplyDeleteMistress Maddie - Same to you! Your comment really sizzles!
ReplyDeleteMilleson - What an awful thing to happen to that dog! Poor thing.
