ReplyDeleteMost other mammal species are much more violent and aggressive than humans. Certainly the other great ape species are (yes, even bonobos). As for stupidity, none of those other animal species would have been smart enough to build all those skyscrapers in the first place.
ReplyDeleteHumans have also become less violent over time. Average death rates from violence (war and murder) were higher in early hunter-gatherer societies than in modern societies -- even when episodes of relatively intense violence, such as World War II, are factored into the modern statistics.
Then can we say that humans aren't really stupid, we just gravitate toward making very lousy decisions most of the time?
