ReplyDeleteReminds me of the food items they served at the Estrella Room at Bullocks and the Yorba Room at Buffum’s in Santa Ana CA when I was a kid. Both were fine dept stores, now long gone. The Estrella Room was named for the star flowers found on Eucalyptus trees that were used as windbreaks for citrus groves in Southern California to protect them from strong Santa Ana winds. The star flower decorated the chinaware of the Estrella Room. The Yorba Room was named for the Yorba family, one time landowners of much of Orange County of which Santa Ana is the county seat.

That slice of pecan pie with a dallop of whipped cream is making my mouth water!! Oh, and that cheesecake with blueberries on top looks scrumptious.
We are having a heat wave here in New England, but it hasn't affected my appetite.
