I'm surprised the minimum wage is still $7,25 an hour in USA.
Up here, even a grocery wraper is paid over $15/h and with the pandemic many workers in ordinary jobs are earning over $22/h.
Many essentials workers like nurses and teachers are granted a $15 000 or $20 000 a year added to their regular pay checks to remain in their work and more.
I like Ryan Houlihan's plan. Flawed, but keep working on it.
All these folks make great points. And it is sad. Sad that we were taught not to question capitalism and see it's many, many evils for what they are.

It's not capitalism that is the evil it's just the way it's done when it's done in a savage way bulldozing all to make big money.
Canada is a capitalist country but also a social democracy where money is in someway used to help its population. We have super rich people too and they're not all good people but the laws here are putting some borders to the way they are doing their money.
We also have strong unions that are negociating better work conditions for their members.
It appears that Congress is the ruling class, which is odd given that those bitches work for us. Or, are least supposed to... It would be nice if we didn't have to wait out an election cycle to fire them for poor performance. Let's get term limits on a national ballet!
