  4. My grandparents had a niece who worked for TWA 1946-1953 as a stewardess.
    She had to pass out earplugs to passengers during long night flights from SF to NYC so they could sleep, the early Constellation’s engines were noisy. The Super-Constellations had complex turbo-compound super charged engines which had constant engine troubles. They were called the best three engined aircraft, as one of the four engines would have to be shut down during a flight.

  5. That record player cost $129.95. In 1959 that was a very expensive item, well over $1,000.00 dollars in today's money.
