Tommy Douglas was voted The Greatest Canadian. Thankfully that hockey player wasn't chosen. Douglas was responsible for Canada's national healthcare. The wealthy said that doctors would flee and hospitals would go bankrupt. They didn't. Oh, and he was a Socialist.
You just said what I wanted to remind here. He was the Prime Minister of Saskatshewan and also was «député» in Ottawa. His universal healthcare system was first in Saskatshewan as the health is a provincial prerogative in our Constitution. After many provinces did it too seeing how good it was for ALL Canadians. The federal governement made it mandatory to all provinces and is after subsidizing it in one way.
I trust my gut...and right now it's telling me that the wingnuts on the extreme right are just itching to start a war. A real one with AK-47s. I'm going to the April 5 protest anyway. Fuck 'em.
I'm wondering out loud if the "We should do something" is turning in to the "It's too late to do anything" period of this dismantling of the rule of law and the demolition of the US of A. The silence of both parties, the continuation of Musk and DOGE, the outright disregard for judges and their rulings certainly tells me the prospects of recovering from this nightmare of epic proportions are slowly slipping away. And now the projected pull out from our NATO leadership and responsibilities is chilling. Is there no one with any authority to help us, or has that authority totally been usurped by a madman and his ilk?

The MAGAs and Trump want to incite a confrontation so Trump’s administration can declare select curfews and full martial law. Don't be surprised if they plot to stage the destruction of a government building and blame us all to make their case. I am so surprised that there has not been massive protests all over the US given what the American Dictator has done in his first two months, SAD. Americans need to WAKE the FUCK up, the writing is on the wall.
