I fear that is exactly what it's going to take: law enforcement and the military realizing that they're getting just as screwed as the rest of us. That's usually what it takes for dictators and oligarchs to fall: The entire populace figures it out.
ReplyDeleteSome pensions have already been stolen , when Bush the younger passed legislation in 2001 that allowed companies to raid pension funds to stay afloat during bankruptcy proceedings. That caused some workers and retirees to lose their pensions.

ReplyDeleteYesterday on the Senate hearing for the finance secretary (maybe not that one but..) asked him if he would raise the $7,25/hour minimum wage to something more «decent».

Here our minimum wage is between $15,75 to $22,00 Can depending of the kind of work.
Just to say as I'm a retired teacher, a new teacher here in Province of Québec has a $105,000. income on his first year of work.
Nothing new in USA since Roosevelt in the 30's with the wealthy battle against the workers to keep their advantages over all.....
