DeleteEvery time in recent history, every one of the financial planners I have dealt with predict a lower stock market if a Democrat was going to win. Yet it appears those orientations are not accurate. When Trump won the first time, the markets went up . . . until he started to do his "stuff" with China and others a year later, then "volatility" got worse and it's level stagnated. Which also affected other stats they claimed to care about.
ReplyDeleteI've seen this scenario start again, a while back. "Conservatives" like to vote with their pocket book, without understanding that they should be voting "for the person" instead.
I don't know that Democrats really have changed that much over the recent history, but Republicans have headed more to the right in many areas. They did that to co-opt the "no taxation" groups and other ultra-consdervative groups they needed for "their cause". In the process, they moved more far to the right from the more center-right location they previously held. This make THEM the radicals. As they consider themselves to be "the good people", they consider themselves to be at "the center" instead. Which makes the Democrats (who have not really moved) as even more "radical" by orientation, from their new farther-right location.
My HOPE is that many "normal" conservatives will notice "their new neighbors", realize how "more intense" they really are, and then realize "WE don't like that!", and look for a new place to be. Which will be more centrist or even more liberal, by comparison! Which is when they'll realize they never should have empowered T in the first place (although many liked him on tv, as the "dictator" he tended to be, by observation).
THEN they realize that Kamala really is the best choice, vote for her, and not tell anybody about it until later. If they were not going to vote for Biden due to his age, they should not blindly vote for T, for the same reason. This is my hope.
