Total deaths in US mass shootings—defined as four or more people shot and killed in one incident, excluding the perpetrator, at a public place, excluding gang-related killings.

After the 2004 expiration of the Assault Weapons Ban, the firearms industry embraced the AR-15's political and cultural significance for marketing. Almost every major gunmaker produces its own version, with ~16 million Americans owning at least one.

  1. In USA, do those who want to vote have to register first? in Italy it is different: one is automatically registered, because he has civil rights and is therefore already registered in the voter list.

    1. I think only the state of Oregon has automatic registration, and I am not 100% certain of that. Everywhere else, one must register.

  2. As for mass shootings, I long ago resigned myself to the possibility that I, or someone I love and care about, will sooner or later because victim of one of these now-daily events.

  3. @xersex,
Here also in Canada once you're registered on a voting list you are on ALL the other ones: federal, provincial and city voting lists.
As a voter, we aren't labeled as being from one or another party. This is kept secret unless you say it to family or friends but it's never a polirazing thing to debate of our politic philosophy.
We don't have only two parties (we have 4 or 5 parties which aren't affilited) which give us a nice range of thinking.

For USA's constant battles or struggles over such deadly weapon ban or no ban it's so ridiculous to see how NRA is gaining money on the back of so many victims.
It's like Americans are supporting their own genocide and are not really pro life but pro money...

Those NRA freaks are shouting their «freedom» in USA but what about of all other Americans freedom to live in a safer country not to fear of being shot down anywhere in their towns.

Thank God I live in Canada.

  4. Xersex - Yes, we have to register before we can vote.

Big Dude - That includes Oregon as well.

  5. Even if in Italy to vote it was necessary to register first and then go to vote, 20% of potential voters would vote.
