ReplyDeleteI'm not against the building of wealth. What I'm against is the greediness that exceeding wealth breeds; the idea that they can't be wealthy enough. Wealth needs to be spread around.
ReplyDeleteI think the earth and its riches belong to all of us. It's the responsibility of moral people to guarantee that everyone has enough, and given those riches, there is more than enough to make everyone comfortable, if we are just.
ReplyDeleteAt the same time, I have a problem: The most liberal and progressive city in this country (US) has, and continues to enact, services to help the homeless and the addicts.
ReplyDeleteResidents of Seattle continue to vote for higher taxes for these programs. Hopefully, our new city council will be able to get something done.
But I want the addicted, and the homeless to accept and demand treatment and housing.
