That's the reason there has bee no attempt to do away with electoral colleges.
Republicans know if they did they would probably never take the White House again.

This is one of the issue in USA's democracy as we've seen in the 2016 elcection when Hillary Clinton had won the «popular vote» vut the way that the electoral colleges work made a winner with Trump.
I fact, Trump would never have been elected and would never get the presidency.
It's all about the «old» American Constitution which is no more adapted to the 21st century world and USA's country.
Just mentionning the real meaning of that damit Second Amendment that was hijacked by the NRA for making money over the lives of innocent people.
And with it, the GOP are saying that they are «pro life»..
