  2. The question might be "When and how did these people become radicalized?" Or are they predictably following the prompts of other activists, unknowingly? As most were not around, or cared about how fascism starts or acts, are they just pawns of others? Blindly following the leads of others?

  3. On the Parenti item -- The old advice to "Keep youe head down, do a good job, don't make waves, and do a good job" seemed to be what many did to get ahead in the system of things in prior decades. It worked well for many! The unliked labor unions had a place in the grand scheme of things, which many did not understand. Yet management did not understand the real needs of the workers, back then, so unions worked for better wages and working conditions. In a time when management did not comprehend that investing more in workers could ultimately make everybody more money. Which is what happened when Henry Ford upped the pay for his factory workers. The wage increase also meant that his workers could afford the cars they built, which also improved quality and probably decreased and lowered "mistakes". Chrysler demonstrated, during the 1990s, that when everybody works together, better products result, higher sales and profits happen, and everybody makes more money, for years. Unions made the USA Middle Class what it was and magnified the expanding economy of the 1950s to 1980s. Then financial conservatives got involved and very little prosperity "trickled down".

  4. Cdadbr - Most of today's corporations are too greedy to allow unions.

  5. When do Mothers become MotherFuckers? When they stop thinking and reasoning fro themselves, when they give up their personal autonomy, when they support right-wing ideology and policy that makes them chattel and second-class citizens. Then they are truly motherfucked MotherFuckers. I'll never understand some women, they get what they deserve. Unfortunately they consign all other women to the same egregious treatment.
