In THE LAST ITEM, those who are staying in government are, of course, REPUBLICANS, who are only accountable to themselves and their equally flaky "base". THEY forget they represent us ALL, not just the ones that seemed to elect them. Imagine their campaign speeches to get elected! How they "fought for democracy" and against those who sought to "steal it". Just as they "fought the Affordable Care Act" and other Democrat ideals which would really HELP PEOPLE rather than blockade everything just because they could. And then claim they are "doing something"? Such creative writing!

The Republican political machinery and gerrymandering keep them in power. I wonder if they can be stopped. the tv ad for our state's political talk show says, "These are the people who speak for you." Every one of them is male (but for one Democrat), old, overweight, and white. Says it all for me.

Al should never have bowed out. He was a comic at the time. And let's not forget that Matt Gaetz is under investigation for human trafficking and he's still in office.
You are not. I never understood it from the beginning. So why didn't she (Kirsten Gillibrand) do the same against the traitor before it got in the White House? She made such a big commotion over this.
