Yep, the anti-abortion stuff isn't about the sanctity of life. Not at all. It never was about that. It's always been about putting women in their place: Back to the kitchen, back to being subservient.

ReplyDeleteAs a retired teacher, I cannot more agree on your point.
I was teaching many years to students that had hard times in learning and many came from disfonctional families.
The FIRST education that a kid has is from his parents. We had many issues when we had to confront our point of views on the education of a kid when we have to meet those parents when a problem is coming out.
Difference of values is a constant struggle here.
No surprises that in USA, a country where guns are easy to purchase and use, those mass shootings anywhere even in schools and churches might happen again and again as the ultimate way to get attention or resolve personnal issues.
I NEVER had to be confronted with a teenager with a weapon or even a knife.
Some were showing agressive behaviors but nothing we, as a school team, couldn't manage with and have some kind of happy ending.
I would NEVER want to go and teach in a USA's school.
PS. As always, those «regressives» who are fighting as «pro life» and want to control the bodies of women are real hypocrits.

ReplyDeleteAnd the whole gun violence in school? Unthinkable in my day and age. I can't believe kids have to live with that on a daily basis simply because those in power won't do anything about it.
