ReplyDeleteNo.3 Is just what never happen here in Canada as religion(s) is out of civil life of any Canadians.
ReplyDeleteAs we have universal healthcare system we never have such issues as said in that meme.
Boss here cannot impose his religious believes to his employes. The rights of all Canadians are in our Canadian Charter of Rights and Liberties and if one tries to impose his believes or sexist behaviors etc, we have the right to go in court and sue him on that Charter.
Regarding "An Important Question for Congress," this is exactly what I thought when the Supreme Court ruled that employers with a "religious or moral objection" could opt out of the Obamacare mandate to provide birth control coverage. Not abortion, just birth control, which nobody could object to unless they're evil, like the Catholic Church.
ReplyDeleteBut that way lies madness. If the Catholic Church gets to opt out of providing birth control, why shouldn't Christian Scientist employers get to opt out of providing any medical care at all, because they don't believe in doctors and medicine?

ReplyDeleteSeeing ALL what is going on in USA I'm sure some Canadians wouldn't even have a tinny thought to invade USA, a country with such violence, crazy capitalism with too much religious interferences all around.
Must underline that some part of USA near our border did say that they would like to join our Confederation... LOL!
Not surprising that a certain Bernie Sanders after visiting my Province de Québec had an Epiphany to suggest that USA, the «richest country in the world» could give and afford a universal health care system like ours. 4
He is hiting the huge wall of capitalist insurance companies.
