  1. Just like Mr Carlin said.
I have never, I am not and will never let nonsense rule my mind and therefore my life.

  2. BatRedneck - It's amazing how many people swallow that nonsense.

  4. For the money factor for religion, here it's Catholic Church for most of our Province of Québec, since the 80's and a bit before, the parishes are so deserted by the people that many churches are degrading, needing urgent reparation because they have no money to do them.

Many churches are on sale, some are converted in condos or public spaces for none profit groups or finally demolished.

As I always said here, Christian religion is no more directing our lives here.

The religion that is on a certain rise here is Muslim and some moske are built in Montreal and in other main cities but not that much as in Europe or France where it's becoming a real scary invasion.

We don't have that kind of money sucker preachers on TV like in USA here.

  5. Well, like Aristotle put it with "nature abhors a vacuum", I'm guessing that the lack of wit in these people is easily filled with lies and fantasies, as long as they bring them magic, whatever the false hopes it relies upon.
The funny thing is that they resent us as 'homo' just as much as we deny them to be 'sapiens' :-p

  6. JiEL - I have to wonder how much money the mosques are pulling in.

  7. Sad, huh. But, I still think George Carlin is an example of a modern philosopher. And that first one, sadly, is so very true.

  8. The thing with mosques is that the money coming in does not only origins from their parishioners. They are also subsidized by arabic countries that will even sometimes take over the full cost of building the mosque, or try to if the local administration let them. This very issue rose in my town two years ago and is yet to be settled.
Islam is not only the most recent among the three monotheist religion, it rules over a large and worldwide spread population of mainly uneducated people (as usual with any religion) who form an easy prey to rule upon starting with a simple motto: wherever you go and settle, impose the islamic way of living, Allah is on your side who allows you to do so.
Religion remains the problem, as alway.
I mean no disrespect to anyone’s beliefs. Still.
I sure am proud that my country has a long history at welcoming people from many origins. But the fact is that, over the past fourty years, I have seen and witnessed how many immigrants became reluctant at assuming the very basic duty which is to assimilate themselves to the local population. And then again religion is to be pointed to: dress codes, both men and women behaviors ruled by their Quran itself interpreted and taught by the local Imam, people not even caring to learn an speak French while in the midst of us.
Even if I know - or at least hope so - that Islam will one day weaken just as Christianity currently does, it pains me to come across these people on a daily basis while getting the obvious feeling that, for being a welcomer, I get repaid as becoming an invaded.
This is a harsh thing to write down, believe me.
And I resent the politicians who led my country to that situation over the last fourty years just for their pursuit of an easy electorate which now turns out to be a major issue to deal with.
And yes it is harsh for a man like me who knows how possible and enjoyable it is to live in harmony with people from different origins and cultures.
As long as no religion is involved.

PS: Rick, please feel free to not published this (way too) long comment if you feel like it doesn’t belong here.

  9. BatRedneck - Your comment absolutely belongs here! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings about the subject. It actually opened my eyes to something I had no idea was happening: Imposing the islamic way of living is exactly what xtians have done - and still do - in many parts of the world. Religion boils down to "My way or the highway." I can foresee a mighty clash between the two in the future, if humankind survives its self-destruction.

  10. Why indeed do we not fear the people who burned those accused of being witches? Isn't that one of the greatest questions of all time?
And, why do we still not fear them??
