I just noticed the words "Not Secure" have been added to the beginning of my blog address. I wonder what gives? Have any of you had a problem with my blog?
Oops, they just disappeared. Again: what gives?
I guess I'll take this opportunity to mention that yesterday's encounter with Apple Care is that I need to empty my History and Cache more often. I think I've done that only once in a year and a half. She even went into the "guts" of my computer and deleted stuff there, a place I'm not comfortable going into and she said unless I really knew what to do, I shouldn't. Anyway, that was the major reason for my computer acting up: too much old stuff!
Looks like these days you see "Not Secure" when you go to an "http://..." site. They want us to use "https://..."
ReplyDeleteAnon - Thanks for the info. I'm seeing the "Not Secure" again right now.
ReplyDeleteHi...On t'other side of 'The Pond' I too have always seen 'Not Secure'....think it is more of an indication not to divulge sensitive information as it is not an encrypted site I believe...?
ReplyDeleteBobbert
bobbert - It's very new to me, but then, I'm not always very observant.
ReplyDeleteNo trouble reading your excellent blog! I also think it's about http vx. https
ReplyDeletebnobbert is correct. Not Secure simply means any information shared is not "secure."
ReplyDeleteThere isn't anything wrong with your blog. It's worth noting, though, that comments are left at an https:// (the "s" indicating "secure.")
It's the "s" in an htp address which indicates if it is a "secure" website. bobbert is correct, it's only an indication of safety in sharing sensitive information.
ReplyDeletewhkattk - Thanks for the additional info!
