The trailers by National and Liberty remind me of the 32 foot New Moon trailer used in the movie The Long, Long Trailer with Desi and Lucy Arnaz. The extra bedrooms in the Lighthouse Duplex and the Ventoura were lofts best suited for children or for storage. The well built Spartan was one of the finest trailer’s money could buy in the 1950’s. The Overland Twin Liner, the driver would have to be skilled to haul two trailers in tandem and own a car with a V-8. Today, some states have length restrictions of 65 feet for a vehicle and two trailers. -Rj
