I remember when Reagan was in office and all of the labor unions were weakening. People I know were resentful of the public sector wages and benefits. Rather than work to achieve the same benefits, those people actively complained about the unions and the workers. Now we have the orange thing in there to finish off the work they wanted done.
In Canada for workers to be unionized is a right. We have many of the workers even from the government workers that are in unions. As a teacher paid by the provincial government I was represented by my teacher's union which made the wages and benefits going better along the years. This is maybe one of the many differences between USA and Canada.
Maybe you haven't noticed that the Western provinces of Canada are leaving and voting to join the USA as independent new States because of the oppression of Ottawa! Welcome brothers!
Canada is exploding! Major American companies are leaving for the United States while 5 western provinces are withdrawing from the Commonwealth and are in negotiations to become States of the USA! WECOME !
Bucky, you're crazy. Or maybe it's just that you watch one news source. Western provinces include BC, and I don't think they're ready to join the US. That leaves Alberta and Saskachewan. Think the Indigenous want the US?
Remember, Saskachewan had been on the federal dole for generations; until they found oil. Same with NF.
And, perhaps you mean some of the extreme parts of the provinces are threatening to leave Confederation? They cannot leave the Commonwealth. I'll also point out that negotiations to join a foreign state by a province or group of people has a name. It's called treason.
Keith Olbermann was great this week on how we need to start taking down the oligarchs.
