  1. Aside from Rocky & Bullwinkle being my absolute FAVORITES, I concur with all of these. I just keep thinking of how far we've slid backwards as a society; we've lost the ability to critically think and to have wonder. To communicate. As a kid, I LOVED going to the library and researching something interesting to me. READING articles and books about a given subject. Now it's, "Oh, a thought popped into my head. Google it. Answered in one sentence or image. Done." There is no... intrinsic depth. Sure, researching news items, I like to cross reference source material to ensure I got a fuller picture, but just... the sense of wonder and the joy of exploration is gone. It also drives me crazy when the art of conversation seems to be dead, thanks to Google. If I wonder about something at the dinner table, instead of the husband and I entering into a dialog about thoughts on the subject; he Googles it. Conversation over. (sigh).

    Why I have cats.

    1. Rade, I agree with you. Unfortunately, I came from a family that did not value reading. At all. At university, I enjoyed learning immensely, but didn't have the research or annalytical skills I needed. Falling in love with a librarian was the answer to my proverbial prayers.

Yes, I use Google for quickly finding the facts. If a thought comes to mind on the bus, I ask Google. It's very much like StarTrek, except without the voice of the computer. (Majel Barret. Googled it).
