In my earlier years of being in customer service/sales, that first orientation was how I operated. That was my goal. A goal not many others like me apparently had as I achieved great successes from it.
I also had a good track record of "dancing with the enemy", too. Knowing just how far I could go and not cause problems. Sometimes getting right up into the gray area, too. Which makes the second item one of my other orientations!
Both of those orientations made my job very rewarding, especially when repeat customers were also achieved from them! After they realized I was giving them something they were not getting from other similar businesses! Made things so much more FUN!
