I bloody, bloody day which I hope never needs repeated. Yet, between Russia attacking Ukraine and Turkey threatening Syria, and China forcing itself on Taiwan(?), it feels more and more likely every day.
Robert Capa landed from an LCVP with regular troops that day and used a 35mm Contax to take pictures in the midst of it all. When the film was sent to be developed a new and nervous photo assistant fried the negatives in a drying cabinet. Only a handful survived.
We all should never forget the bravery of a united band of nations that stormed ashore on that day, we must honour their bravery and memory - Bobbert

ReplyDeleteBobbert - Absolutely.
ReplyDeletePat - I fear conditions around the world are falling into place for another world war.
