Taking into account all the numerous guys I have worked with outside on various gardening / maintenance project, I have sadly never seen any of my colleagues wearing 'safety equipment' such as the guys in the first image....if this guy turned up wearing that, we wouldn't get much work completed....plenty of other stuff perhaps...?
